Spotlight: Eddie M.

"Leaving Newburgh Free Academy was a big step for me. As a student who was accepted into many schools during an economic downturn, cost was a big factor in choosing a school. In the end, I chose Dutchess Community College not just because it was cost beneficial, but due to the high regard it receives from community members and alumni.

After graduating in just three semesters, I now see why many respect this fine institution. The campus is a beautiful place to learn, but it is the people on campus that make Dutchess so great. Professors, staff and students from all walks of life add to the greatness of DCC. The resources available help make its students so successful. From tutoring help and transfer counseling to student clubs, the resources are outstanding.

As president of business honor society Alpha Beta Gamma, Business Club representative, Student Government Association member and Phi Theta Kappa member, I grew into a more outgoing and stronger person. My time at DCC left me with great memories, friendships that will last a lifetime and great advice from professors. I will be forever grateful to DCC, as it helped me to advance my studies and grow into a smarter individual."
