Spotlight: Alicia W.

"I'm a Human Services major at DCC. I graduated from Roy C. Ketcham High School in 2009 as a member of the National Honor Society. I work in the Financial Aid office here at DCC, as well as at a local drug store. It can be tough to juggle between school, work, family and a social life, but it is possible!

I have a few tips for those coming to DCC. The key to maintaining a good balance is time management. Setting aside time for -- and prioritizing -- all the things you have to do, is essential. Communication also is a vital part of being successful. Make sure you have ways to contact your professors and that you do so when necessary. This also includes utilizing the information that is available to you through the college's website and its web portal, myDCC. Keeping in contact and being aware shows that you are responsible and that you care about your career as a student."
